In earlier days, the process of making a guitar was left to the luck of the draw... However, at Clayton, we decided to ensure that the that quality of our guitars remained extremely consistent and  we identified the point in the manufacturing process that makes the most impact on the sound.... the selection of the tops and backs and instituted a new process that makes the selection based on tone rather than which piece of wood is the next on the stack.
